french revolution
by Angela Min
Paris, the city of light. It is a city I have never visited but that inspires me nonetheless. To me, Paris lives in my imagination as not just a luminously beautiful city, but a city where revolutions begin. There is the painted kind, like that of Picasso (who used collage!) to reimagine how to see the world. Then, there is the social kind - the French Revolution of 1789, and the Liberation of Paris led by the French Resistance during WW2, a doubly inspiring movement for having been fought largely by women. And lastly, I've included a photo of Marillon Cotillard just because she seems to be the epitome of the modern French woman, confident, self-assured and of course, incredibly chic.
